In 1947, sixteen aircraft engineers from Svenska Aeroplan Aktiebolaget (SAAB) in Trollhättan unveiled the UR Saab, their first ever automobile.
It became an icon. A symbol of innovation that defines Saab to this very day. But would you be surprised to know it has connections with the 1969 moon landings? And it isn’t so far removed from Arne Jacobsen’s interior masterpiece at the SAS Air Terminal and Royal Hotel in Copenhagen. It’s at the heart of a phenomenon that links together 20th century design icons in the most surprising of ways. We call it iconnections.
